Ingredients for Cedar Cheese Cornbread
1 | tsp | Baking soda |
1 | bundle | Fresh basil |
1 1/4 | tsp | Salt |
1,2 | dl | Wheat flour |
1/2 | tsp | Bicarbonate of soda |
2 | Eggs | |
2,5 | dl | Corn flour |
2,5 | dl | Torn ceddar cheese |
3 | dl | Buttermilk |
3 | tbsp | Melted butter |
5 | dl | Fresh corn grains (ca. 3-4 corn on the COB) |
Instructions for Cedar Cheese Cornbread
To prepare the Cedar Cheese Cornbread recipe, please follow these instructions:
Heat the oven up to 200 degrees, and butter an approx. 20 cm. Flat pan with butter.
Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add buttermilk, whole egg, melted butter, corn, cheese and finely chopped basil. Everything is well kneaded and shaped into a round bread.
Bake the bread for 35-45 minutes until the bread is golden.
tips:
If possible, grind the corncobs first, then they will have a slightly smoked flavor, which will give the bread a different character.
